Macleay Valley Markets

Kempsey Riverside Markets

Kempsey Riverside Markets are on the first Saturday of every month and include an organic farmers’ market that sells some of the best Macleay Valley produce and gourmet foods.

Much of the produce available is either organic or chemical-free. Some regular seasonal produce includes organic garlic, blueberries, greens, avocados, pumpkins, bananas and citrus.

The farmers’ market is a great place to spend a morning or a day, with two entertainment stages and plenty of gourmet locally produced food, including cakes, condiments, cured meats and more.

The Kempsey Riverside Markets has grown from a regular 60 stalls to over 90-100, and now features a Macleay Valley Food Bowl tent that will provide the public with a taste of the best local produce.

Gladstone Quality Markets

The popular Gladstone Quality Markets are held on the third Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm.

Held on the banks of the Macleay River opposite the Heritage Hotel of Gladstone, the market hosts a farmers’ market as well as quality, local, hand-picked stallholders who offer art, ceramics, handmade soaps and organic beauty products, and gourmet foods such as jams, preserves, farm fresh produce, sourdough bread and locally made muesli.

Barista coffee, buffalo gelato and cheeses, locally smoked fish products (including yellow-fin tuna and trout) and gourmet pies are all on offer.

Green thumbs will love the selection of native plants and there is live entertainment by local musicians and performers, as well as regular face-painting and a jumping castle for the kids.
