There are few animals as adorable as alpacas, but what are they actually used for?
Robinwood Alpacas breeds 22 rare ‘Suri’ alpacas per year, choosing the breed for its natural colour diversity. They’re sold for herds, pets, guard animals for livestock and fleece.
Fleece from Robinwood is sold through the local alpaca network and directly to local spinners. The majority of animals are sold within the Mid North Coast region.
Anyone keen to get up close with one of these gorgeous animals can attend the Mid North Coast Alpaca Show, held annually in July at the Kempsey Showground.
